The Faculty of Humanities recently hosted their annual postgraduate conference, and has extended its programme to include honours students. The conference allows students to share their research on a multi-disciplinary platform to peers and established academics within the Faculty.

Prof Irma Eloff, former Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Pretoria, has been appointed as Chairperson of the Council of the Suid-Afrikaanse Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns. She is only the second woman in the 108 years since the Academy's inception to hold this position.
