SOA: Drama proudly presents the Drama Student Festival from 23 – 27 July 2024. The Festival is a thrilling presentation of creativity and talent, showcasing a selection of the top student productions developed in the first semester of 2024. Come and experience the BEST OF THE BEST!

Student performances include a selection of 3 rd year Directing student Productions under the supervision of Calvin Ratladi, the Honours students’ presentation of The Four Mrs Buchanans, a multi-camera situational comedy (Sitcom) directed by Lelia Bester and The Memories … - a physical theatre performance directed by Kristina Johnstone with dramaturgy by Lelia Bester, which recently completed a successful run at the Vrystaat Arts Festival. The programme also includes a solo performance, In-between by Masters’ student Shamiga Makaku and a guest performance by Smangaliso Ngwenya who will perform Barena Reimagined, inspired by the original work by Vincent Sekwati Mantsoe and choreographed by David April. An exciting addition to the Festival is a series of workshops - Radio Drama offered by Lelia Bester, a Physical Theatre Workshop presented by the cast of The Memories, as well as a Film Critique Workshop hosted by Chris Broodryk.
