Maikeleng Ledimo, a dynamic young nurse and entrepreneur, is making waves with her remarkable contributions to nursing and her innovative approach to healthcare. Raised in Maseru, Lesotho, Ledimo is the eldest of four siblings, known for her dependability and community spirit. Her motto, “Win the morning, win the day,” has fueled her relentless pursuit of success and productivity.

A proud University of Pretoria graduate, Ledimo completed her undergraduate nursing science in 2018 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in nursing research, focusing on Sexual Violence Against Women (SVAW). Her leadership journey began as a class representative in 2015 and evolved through roles including House BCur House Committee member and SRC member, where she contributed to the Transformation Council and the Institution Forum.

Following her Community Service in Johannesburg in 2020, Ledimo’s career soared. She was elected as the Rapporteur of the Health Committee for the SADC Youth Parliament and served as the National Coordinator for the Commonwealth Youth Climate Network from 2020 to 2021. Her accolades include being named in the Mail & Guardian’s Top 200 Youth in South Africa (2021) and one of the Top 50 Nurses of South Africa (2023). This year, she is a potential lister for the Forbes 30 Under 30 Africa list.

Currently, Ledimo serves as a clinical lecturer at the University of Pretoria’s Nursing Science Department, where her youth and expertise have made a significant impact. She has represented the university at notable conferences, including the FUNDISA Conference and the 3rd African Nursing Conference, sharing her insights on evidence-based prosecution in sexual violence cases and getting started with publications.

In 2023, Ledimo founded Leruo Nursing Services (PTY) LTD, a mobile IV hydration clinic aimed at transforming nursing service delivery. Her vision is to empower clients towards optimal health and well-being through customized IV therapies, personalized consultations, and wellness workshops.
