Public Health Webinar: A view from the Research Fairness Initiative Speakers

On 17 July 2020, the Public Health Association of South Africa and the School of Health Systems and Public Health hosted a webinar focusing on the topic: “Are the global research collaborations to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic more equitable than before? A view from the Research Fairness Initiative Speakers”.

Speaker profiles:

Prof Carel IJsselmuiden is Executive Director of Council on Health Research for Development (COHRED), ex-officio member of the COHRED Board and President of COHRED USA. His previous appointments include HOD of the Department of Community Health at the UP in 1995. He became the founding Director of the School of Health Systems and Public Health, UP in 1999 before joining COHRED in 2004.

Kirsty Kaiser is Research Fairness Initiative (RFI) Implementation Manager: COHRED, Durban. She completed her Masters of Social Science Psychology (Research) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), South Africa. Her interests lie in research ethics and fairness in research, and she has been working for COHRED since 2017 on the RFI.
