23 August 1957: UP student’s demand roller skating rink on campus. On this “Day in the life at the University of Pretoria” Die Perdeby reported that students need more constructive leisure time activities - like roller skating.

22 August 1969: 1500 students and staff eat at Tuks cafeteria each day. On this “Day in the life at the University of Pretoria” the student paper, Die Perdeby, reported that the campus cafeteria has “flourished”.

21 August 1941: Council appoints committee to investigate expansion of grounds. On this “"Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" UP appointed M.C. Botha, Gerard Moerdyk and J. Postmus to purchase grounds between Burnett street and the train line.

18 August 1950. (New) UP blazers available! On this "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" the student newspaper the Perdeby announced that the UP blazer, Alumni blazer, rugby jersey and socks as well as the UP tie and honorary blazers were finally available to buy at Grant Mackenzie.
