A day in the life at the University of Pretoria.17 August 1973

17 August 1973: UP’s female first hockey team beat Old Girls team 2-0. This "Day in the life of the University of Pretoria" ended in a spectacular win.

The student newspaper the Perdeby (featured above) praised the efforts of the following Tukkie players: Karen de Villiers; Anette Seegers and Lice Seele.

1973 also saw the establishment of an Underwater hockey team at UP. The new team, the Exploratio divers, practised twice a week at the Hillcrest swimming pool. The Perdeby (featured below) mentioned that their first match was set to be at Wits in the summer months.
