First things first. Let’s introduce you to “Step it UP”, what was previously known as Serrie. This year was the first time that Step it UP took place and let me tell you, Magrietjie once again let the Pink passion shine brightly.

On the 2^nd of May the ladies’ prelims took place on campus with the men’s prelims on the 3^rd of May. This year the prelims did not take place at the men’s residences, like the previous years, but at four different venues on campus. The night couldn’t have been better with a group of 60+ girls singing and dancing their hearts out. Leading the team was Dimakatso Molepo, our culture external with Magrietjie’s Step it UP theme, being “The Affair”.

After the announcement of the finals, Magrietjie prepared for an eventful Saturday night. This year the finals were held on campus in the Amphitheater only.

Magrietjie outdone themselves and we are exceptionally proud of each and every lady that took part. Magrietjie achieved an overall second place on the night, with Asterhof and Taaibos taking the winning honours for Step it UP 2018.

Thank you to each lady taking part, the band, the crew and the whole house for your support and motivation. Without you Step it UP would not have been as much fun and as successful.
