Professor Anders Lindahl will explore the latest technological analyses available to archaeological ceramics currently applied in Scandinavia and much of continental Europe.

Workshop Presenters
Invited presenters from South Africa and neighbouring countries will give position papers on ceramic technology, ceramics and group identities, ceramics and social structures, and other topical subjects.

Participants
Workshop organisers will invite up to ten (10) academics, and, selected undergraduate and post-graduate students in archaeology and related disciplines based in southern Africa, working on or developing an interest in ceramics. Archaeologists working in contract archaeology and encountering ceramics in their work are also encouraged to attend. Those interested in attending should contact Professor Pikirayi ([email protected]) or Dr Manyanga ([email protected]). Attendance is free. Workshop organisers will cover teas/coffees and lunches. Accommodation will be provided to invited participants from outside Gauteng.
