EBIT week 2022 took place at the faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology from 10 – 13 July on Hatfield campus. EBIT week provides learners, currently in grade 10, 11 and 12 the opportunity to explore, experience and learn more about the various degrees on offer. 

The learners who were interested in a career in the Built Environment had the opportunity to visit the Department of Construction Economics on Monday 11 July.  During our interactive session with the learners, we informed them about career opportunities in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management and Real Estate.  The learners also engaged in a practical activity to help them develop a high-level understanding of building cost and the feasibility of a project.  We ended the session with a presentation on how the Javett Art Centre was constructed.  The learners had the opportunity to visit the Javett Art Centre the next day and experience all it had to offer.
