EBIT Faculty House

Welcome to EBIT House

At the University of Pretoria, EBIT House is more than just a student community ,  it is a hub of innovation, leadership, and collaboration. Students from Engineering, Built Environment, and Information Technology come together to build a culture of excellence, belonging, and shared purpose.

Introducing the EBIT House Committee

The EBIT House Committee (EHC) operates under the Department of Student Affairs as a subcommittee of the Student Representative Council (SRC). The committee plays an important role in creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all EBIT students. Guided by its constitution, the EHC is committed to promoting leadership, academic growth, professional development, and student wellbeing, while serving as a link between students, the faculty, and the wider university community.

Who We Are

The EBIT House Committee consists of a dedicated team of Executive Committee (EC) members, each responsible for a specific portfolio to ensure the smooth functioning of the house and its initiatives.

Our current portfolios include:
Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, Marketing, Media & Webmaster, Transformation & Postgraduate Affairs, Community Outreach, Treasurer, External Culture, Internal Culture, Sports Officer, Industrial Exposure, Academic Officer.

Supporting the Executive Committee is the General Committee (GC), a group of passionate student leaders selected by the GC Representative in consultation with the Chairperson. Together, the EC and GC form a cohesive team, working collaboratively to plan initiatives, host events, support students, and represent EBIT House at every level.

Our Role in Student Life

The EHC plays a transformative role in shaping the student experience within the EBIT Faculty. Beyond planning academic and social events, the committee advocates for student needs, collaborates with faculty and institutional stakeholders, and drives initiatives that align with the University of Pretoria’s vision of excellence.

Through mentorship programmes, academic support, leadership development, and engaging student activities, EBIT House empowers its members to grow holistically , academically, professionally, and socially.

It is a space where students build networks, find their voice, and create lasting memories.
