Student Representative Council

Welcome to the Student Representative Council (SRC)

Who Are We?

The Student Representative Council (SRC) is a democratically elected statutory body that serves as the highest student leadership structure at the University of Pretoria. We exist to serve students and represent their interests, ensuring their voices are heard and their concerns addressed.

As a body by the students, for the students, we work to encourage a campus environment where every student, regardless of background or circumstance, can thrive.

Our Mission & Vision

Our mission is to advocate for student rights, promote inclusivity, and ensure that every student has access to the support they need.

Our vision is a university where no student suffers in silence—where assistance is always accessible, and where equality in food security, housing, registration, and academic opportunities is a reality for all.

How We Support You

The SRC provides platforms for student involvement across academics, sport, culture, student life, and community engagement. We work with various sub-committees and councils to address student needs and facilitate initiatives that support student well-being. If you need help—speak up, reach out, and let us work for you.

Contact information

You can find the SRC in Kopanong 2 in the Student Centre at the Piazza on the Hatfield campus between 8:30 and 16:30 everyday.

For specific contact details of each of the SRC portfolios, please visit our contact page.

The Consitution for Student Governance (CSG) is the apex constitution and is the guiding principle for the SRC, Student Governance and Student Leadership.

The current version of the CSG (R32/24) was amended and approved by Council on 19 June 2024.
