Posted on October 18, 2019

The Department of Computer Science in the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment and Information Technology (EBIT) at the University of Pretoria presented its Annual Project Day on 17 October 2019 in the Rautenbach Hall on Hatfield Campus. The event is set aside for the final-year BSc (Computer Science), BSc (IT), BSc (IKS) and BIT students of the Department of Computer Science to showcase their year-long projects. The projects are evaluated by Computer Science staff members, sponsors, guests and the clients of the developed projects.

The judges nominate teams for the various prizes, such as Software Engineering Excellence, Most Innovative Use of Open Source, Innovation, Algorithmic Innovation, Triple Bottom Line, Best Mobile Application, GIS (Locational Awareness), Fit for Purpose, Architectural Awareness, Best Application of Security, Best Use of Data (Data Science), User Experience and Best Application of Artificial Intelligence. Prizes will be presented to the winning teams at the School of IT prize-giving and award ceremony in 2020.

We would like to thank our students for the hard work they put into getting the software products to a standard that is ready for industrial use. We would also like to thank the Computer Science staff members, external examiners, sponsors, judges, clients and guests for being part of the 2019 Project Day.
