UP student takes part in international student exchange programme

Posted on November 26, 2019

Nangula Ndadi, an Internal Auditing honours student, represented the University of Pretoria at the 2019 Internal Audit Student Exchange in Orlando, Florida, USA. The exchange is a wonderful opportunity for global exposure that allows recognition of exceptional students studying at the nine Internal Audit Centers of Excellence globally.

The event included a case study competition where Nangula’s team took third place after competing against 12 teams, each consisting of 9 students. The annual competition challenged university students to assess real-world internal control issues in businesses, and present their audit findings to a very specialised audience.

Reflecting on her experience, she says: “I gained insight on innovations from industry leaders and how to prepare for the future of internal audit from exchanging ideas and experiences with practitioners and international students.”

She described it as an amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience with network opportunities that broadened her worldwide connections and offered future career prospect.

“The value of the friendships I’ve made and knowledge I’ve obtained is immeasurable. I would like to extend my gratitude to the Department of Auditing in UP’s Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences for providing me with this brilliant experience and for their continued support.”
