Promoting research: The Office for Research Support in the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences
In line with UP’s new vision to be “a leading research-intensive university in Africa”, the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences has established the Office for Research Support. The purpose of the Office is to promote and advance the research engagement of the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences through the provision of a range of research support and information services. It creates a space with resources and knowledge to support and improve the research productivity and quality in the Faculty. It is also envisioned that the Office will become a hub for interdepartmental research interaction and collaboration. The Office functions under the leadership of Prof Jenny Hoobler, Deputy Dean: Research and Postgraduate Studies.
The services of the Office are primarily to assist academic staff with their own research and research development. The Office for Research Support will offer numerous services to academic staff, ranging from research advice, assistance with NRF-rating applications and editorial assistance to research assistants, information about research funding and research workshops.
