The Department of Business Management recently hosted its annual supply chain career day at the UP Conference Centre. Various industry role players, such as PWC, Unilever, UTi, DHL, Adcock Ingram and Proctor & Gamble, presented their career opportunities to the under- and postgraduate students in Supply Chain Management. 

A number of recruitment agencies, such as Tech-Pro Personnel and SIYASIZA Human Capital, were also present on the day and guided students on how to create a professional CV, typical salary expectations and tips on how to conduct themselves when attending an interview.

The career presentations were complemented with an exhibition where students had the opportunity to engage with employers and with recent graduates currently active in the various supply chain management graduate programmes.

“The career day is an excellent platform for the students to gain more information regarding professional bodies and industry associations, career paths in supply chain management, employer expectations and graduate programme requirements,” says Wesley Niemann, programme manager of Supply Chain Management in the the Department of Business Management.

He adds that the Department is proud of its partnership and association with industry.
