Inquiry-based learning

Inquiry-based learning from undergraduate level links to UP’s status as a research-intensive university and the EMS Faculty full subscribes to this approach. Students should expect to be exposed to research by others from their first year, but also to be inducted into research techniques within their fields of study. Research exposure is intensified in later years of study The University and the EMS Faculty strive to graduate independent learners who know what questions to ask and the methods needed to explore those questions and answer them. UP graduates possess intellectual curiosity and an inquiry-led approach to knowledge. They rigorously apply knowledge and research methodologies, from a variety of paradigms, appropriate to their fields of study and professions, to create innovative solutions to challenges and communicate their knowledge effectively.
