BSc (Hons) Food Science
After completing my BSc. Degree in Food Science, I applied to study my Honors in Food Science. I completed my Honors degree under the supervision of Prof Geybi Duodu in 2019. My honours research was aimed at studying the effect of lactic acid fermentation on the bioaccessibility of phenolic compounds in sorghum porridge.
I am currently the Lead Quality Control for Ceres Fruit Processors (Pty) Ltd. We are a juicing and puree producing company. We supply fruit purees as an ingredient to both local and international food processing companies but our main focus is on producing apple and pear concentrates to some of South Africa’s biggest food processing companies. Part of my profile includes fruit grading, customer complaints, NCR, line inspections and approvals and the VACCP system.
