Dr Alecia Samuels, from the Centre for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (CAAC) at the University of Pretoria, was recently awarded the HELTASA TAU Fellowship for 2015–2016.

The HELTASA (Higher Education Learning and Teaching Association of Southern Africa) TAU (Teaching Advancement at University) Fellowship Programme is a programme for experienced academics who have been acknowledged for their teaching excellence and who wish to expand their knowledge about teaching and learning within a supportive and collegial environment.

Dr Samuels is currently doing her postdoctoral fellowship at Jönköping University in Sweden and will return to the CAAC in January 2017.
