Title of the seminar: 'Access, funding, equity and employment challenges of Higher Education in the 21st century'
The programme will include the following national and international speakers:
- Prof Rajani Naidoo from Bath University in the United Kingdom on 'Equity in a fractured world: dilemmas and opportunities for international collaboration in higher education'
- Prof Melanie Walker from the University of the Free State on 'International research perspectives on access and implications for South Africa'
- Dr Vincent Carpentier from the Centre for Global Higher Education - Institute of Education, University College London, United Kingdom
- Dr Yann Lebeau from the School of Education and Lifelong Learning at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom
- Prof Jussi Välimaa from the Finnish Institute for Educational Research - University of Jyväskylä, Finland
- Dr Carpentier, Dr Lebeau and Prof Jussi will do a joint presentation on the paper title: 'International perspectives on equality of higher education opportunities: models and strategies for accessibility, availability and attainability'
- Prof Chika Sehoole, Dean of the Faculty of Education will act as Chair at the Seminar while Prof Everard Weber, Head of the Department of Education Management and Policy Studies will be the Respondent.
