You don’t have to wait until you graduate high school to get a glimpse into the world of a UP student. If you are in Grade 9 – 12 and want to develop important skills now to better equip yourself for the personal and professional challenges of a student, JuniorTukkie is meant for you.
Developed by the University of Pretoria’s Department of Enrolment and Student Administration, the JuniorTukkie programme provides a wide variety of services to future students, including:
If want to become a JuniorTukkie (JT) member, the first step is to register for the JT app. Parents and teachers are welcome to register too.
1 Search for the ‘UP mobile app’ on the Google Play Store or Apple App store.
2 Download the app.
3 Select ‘allow notifications’ to receive important information.
4 On the ‘Please select a persona’ screen, select ‘JuniorTukkie’.
As easy as that! To complete the process and discover all the benefits of being a JuniorTukkie member, follow steps 2 – 5.
1Register for the JT App(for learners, parents, teachers)
Where to find the JuniorTukkie App:
Go to Google Play Store or Apple App Store and download the ‘UP Mobile App’.
Select ‘Allow notifications’.
On the ‘Please select a Persona’ screen, select ‘JuniorTukkie’.
2Become a JT member(for Grade 9-12 learners)
Complete the JuniorTukkie membership form that is available on the JT App.
On the JT App, click on the ‘JuniorTukkie’ tile.
Then, select ‘Become a JuniorTukkie’.

3Join jTOnline(for Grade 8-12 learners)
