The Department of Residence Affairs and Accommodation (TuksRes) is a dynamic and student-focused division dedicated to enhancing the residential experience at the University of Pretoria.
As South Africa’s largest residential university, the University of Pretoria accommodates over 8 000 students in its university residences. This extensive residential community is supported by a well-structured management framework that ensures seamless operations and a high standard of student living.
In October 2004, the University of Pretoria's Council took a bold step to streamline and enhance the efficiency of its residence operations. By consolidating all residence-related functions into a single, integrated business unit, the university eliminated fragmented operational structures across campus. This strategic decision led to the establishment of TuksRes, a unified department committed to delivering exceptional residential services and fostering a strong sense of community for students.
