Prof Beth le Roux, head of the Publishing Studies division from the Department of Information Science, presented a keynote address at a capacity building workshop and symposium on the 'Implications of the development of a book policy framework for South Africa', hosted by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture and the South African Cultural Observatory, at the National Library of South Africa, on 28 February 2023. Prof le Roux presented on South African publishing industry research, based on the contract research conducted annually for the Publishers' Association of South Africa. Prof le Roux is the lead researcher on this annual survey of book publishing research.
