Prof Peter Lor, a research associate in the Department of Information Science, has been bestowed by the South African Library and Information (SALI) Trust and the Library and Information Association of South Africa (LIASA)’s Lifetime Achievement Award. This took place during the LIASA-SCESAL conference dinner early October.

This joint award recognises a significant and continuous contribution to the library and information profession and notable impact and influence over many years.

Prof Lor had a longstanding relationship with the Department of Information Science, being appointed an Extraordinary Professor from 1998 to 2016, and a Research Associate since 2017.
