Dr. Liezl Ball, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Science, moderated at the Love Data Publishing at UP on 29 September 2022.

The event was hosted by the Department of Library Services, with the theme “Data is the new Gold”. It is an international celebration of data with the aim of creating awareness of the importance of research data management, sharing, preservation, reuse and the role played by libraries in assisting researchers in managing their data.

Some of the talks included, data in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in Africa, managing and sharing research data, the state of Open Data 2022, the development of the urban digital twin laboratory at UP, and tracing research funding through to publications, online impact and tech transfer.
