Department of Information Science personnel present at Flexible Futures Conference 2021

Department of Information Science personnel from the Multimedia and Publishing sub-programmes presented at Flexible Futures 2021. The Flexible Futures conference is organized by the University of Pretoria to re-imagine teaching and learning in higher education. The virtual conference took place on 26 and 27 August 2021.

Laetitia Cassells, lecturer in the Publishing sub-discipline, presented a paper titled Advanced digital publishing: an example of project-based learning supporting institutional sustainable development policies.

Laetitia Cassells also co-authored another paper with Anneke Nel, junior research officer in the Publishing sub-discipline, titled A pilot project sharing the narratives of community members participating in COSUP and the homeless forum initiatives in the city of Tshwane through digital storytelling.

Annique Smith, lecturer and Multimedia package coordinator, and Diffie Bosman, junior research officer in the Multimedia sub-discipline, presented a paper titled A podcast for improving the work readiness of BIS Multimedia graduates.

Koos de Beer, lecturer in Multimedia and research consultant for Exxaro, and Jannie Maritz, lecturer in the Department of Engineering, presented a paper titled Visualizing and tracking graduate attribute performance: a mining case study.
