Newly appointed research associate in the Department of Information Science, Chirag Shah, Ph.D., has been selected by the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) as the founding Editor-in-Chief of the new ASIS&T publication titled Information Matters.

Dr. Shah is an associate professor at the University of Washington in Seattle. His research focus is on data science, machine learning, search and recommendation and responsible artificial intelligence (AI). He has been a member of ASIS&T since 2009.

Information Matters is a new digital-only communication translational forum for information science that will include relevant research evidence as well as industry developments, news, and opinions. This publication aims to inform the public, industry role-players, educational practitioners as well as policymakers on information science issues of vital significance to society and civil life.
