Dr Beth le Roux, co-ordinator of the publishing studies course, is publishing a book based on her PhD called The Social History of University Presses in Apartheid South Africa. This book will be released in July and is going to be published by the Dutch publisher, Brill. Brill is a scholarly publisher founded in 1683 and they publish over 800 books per year, as well as over 200 journal titles. The book will be part of the series called Library of the written Word. The plan is to launch her book at the 2015 SHARP conference. Of the writing process, Dr le Roux states that “it was a difficult process, with a completely different market and structure” but that she is “extremely excited to be publishing a book with this prestigious publisher”.
