During the second half of 2006 several staff members of the Department of Information Science was honoured for their contributions to professional bodies. Congratulations to the following:

	Prof. Ina Fourie was elected as the vice chair of the RETIG SIG of LIASA at the RETIG AGM during the September 2006 LIASA conference.

Dr. Francis Galloway was elected to the Board of Directors of SHARP, the international Society for the History of Authorship, Reading, and Publishing.

Prof Maritha Snyman has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of LAPA Publishers
