BA Linguistics and English Literature (UCT); BA (Hons) Linguistics (UCT, First Class); MA Applied Language and Literacy Education (Wits, Distinction)

 

Ms Treffry-Goatley joined the Department as a lecturer in 2023. She has a depth and breadth of experience in the book publishing industry and is passionate about contributing to the development of future generations of publishing professionals. Her main research area is literacy as social practice, with a focus on reading and books in African contexts. She is currently writing her PhD dissertation in Linguistics at the University of Cape Town, about multilingual children’s literacy practices at the library in South Africa and Kenya.
