Prof. Elda du Toit has been appointed as Head of the Department of Financial Management, with effect from 1 September 2025, for a period of four years.

Prof du Toit, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Financial Management at the University of Pretoria's Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences. With over 20 years of experience in teaching and research, she specialises in corporate financial reporting and disclosure quality. Prof. du Toit coordinates the MCom Financial Management Sciences programme and the honours research module, supervises numerous master’s and doctoral students, and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.

She has also played a key role in the AACSB accreditation process. As the Faculty Coordinator for Assurance of Learning, she contributes to the development and implementation of systems that promote continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Beyond her academic responsibilities, Prof. du Toit serves as Deputy Chair of the CIMA Centre of Excellence South Africa and acts as a judge for the CGISA Integrated Reporting Awards, reflecting her commitment to both scholarship and professional practice.
