Fees

Tuition fees for UPOnline programmes are listed on the specific programme page under the "Tuition Fees" tab. This includes:

  • A table showing the modules, their duration, and the fee per module.
  • The total programme cost for the current academic year.

UPOnline offers no financial aid for the fully online programmes. Students are encouraged to explore funding and bursary opportunities through external sources or inquire with their employers about potential financial support.

If you have any historic debt with the University of Pretoria, any payments made will first be applied to settle any outstanding debt owed to the University of Pretoria

Once registered, you can view your student account details and statements on the UP Student Portal

  • First-time users can access the UP Student Portal by clicking on ‘New User’ and using their student number as the username, followed by their ID/passport number to log in.

Payment deadlines

  • Tuition fees are divided into equal payments per module and must be paid upon registration before the start of the module to ensure continued access to study resources. Refer to the Multiple Start Dates page for more information.
  • Failure to make payment and upload proof of payment (POP) to the UP Student Portal within five days of the module start date will result in your access to clickUP (Blackboard) being revoked.
  • On day 11 after the start of the module, students who have not adhered to the payment requirements will be deregistered, with no exceptions made.
  • International students are advised to allow at least 10 working days for bank processing and to retain proof of payment for reference.

Annual Increase

  • Module pricing is subject to change at the start of each year without prior notice.
  • UPOnline tuition fees will increase annually by approximately 6%.
  • The annual increase applies from the March intake, which is the second intake of the year.
  • If the programme fee is paid in full upfront, the student remains responsible for the difference between the initial payment and the increased amount until programme completion.
  • The total programme cost is all-inclusive.
