UPOnline offers no financial aid for the fully online programmes. Students only pay for the module/s they register for, making it easier to manage study costs. Students are encouraged to explore funding and bursary opportunities through external sources or inquire with their employers about potential financial support.
Annual Tuition Fee Increase:
- Module pricing is subject to change at the start of each year without prior notice.
- UPOnline tuition fees will increase annually by approximately 5%.
- The annual increase applies from the March intake, which is the second intake of the year.
- If the programme fee is paid in full upfront, the student remains responsible for the difference between the initial payment and the increased amount until programme completion.
- Any payments made will first be applied to settle any outstanding debt owed to the University of Pretoria.
- The total programme cost is all-inclusive.
Fees Paid by Bursar:
- Ensure that you are aware of the conditions and value of your bursary, as bursaries may or may not cover the full costs of your study.
- Students must submit written proof from the sponsor of the bursary awarded to them prior to registering for the first module. Otherwise, the student will pay the tuition fee, and regular payment deadlines will apply.
- After securing your own external bursary from your company or institution, you must bring this to our attention. The proof of bursary must be on an official letterhead addressed to the University of Pretoria or the Registrar and signed by the bursar/sponsor. It must confirm the student number, total amount of funding, and year of study for the bursary granted to you.
- The final decision regarding the acceptability of a bursary letter rests with the university; if the letter is not marked as valid, the regular payment deadlines will apply.
- Students remain responsible for their student accounts if their bursary sponsor does not pay their account.
- Please upload a new bursary letter addressed to UP for every academic year before registering for any modules to confirm that the bursary covers that specific academic year.
- External companies or other institutions that sponsor students with bursaries must make payments once for every three intakes; otherwise, students may not be permitted to register for subsequent modules unless they pay the tuition before or on the module start date.
Please note the following applies when the UPOnline students' sponsor or bursar requires a Tax Invoice from UP that is addressed to the sponsor/bursar for the tuition fees.
Only the sponsor/bursar can request an invoice from [email protected].
Please do not create a document; the information below should be included in the email.
The following applies to the bursar/sponsor:
- Name of the institution to be invoiced
- VAT number (if registered)
- Address
- Contact person
- Email address
- Contact number
- Student number
- Amount to be invoiced
- Per module or total programme cost
- List of modules to be included in the invoice (only if for specific modules and not the total tuition fee)
- Expected date of payment
ALL FIELDS MUST BE COMPLETED, AND NO DOCUMENTS MUST BE ATTACHED UNLESS IT'S A PURCHASE ORDER!
Alternatively, the sponsor/bursar can send UP a Purchase Order containing the abovementioned information. Then there is NO need to provide the information requested if a purchase order will be provided.
