Ms Laetitia Cassells presents The Ally Pilot at the Digital Accessibility session

Ms Laetitia Cassells, Publishing lecturer at the Department Informaton Science at the University of Pretoria, presented at the third online Digital Accessibility lunch and learn session, together with a student representative, Ms Ashleigh Pascoe. After ms Cassels enrolled her Publishing courses in the Blackboard Ally pilot program for accessibility, she was invited to share her experience at the session for the rollout next year.

In collaboration with the Disability Unit, the Centre for Augmentative and Alternative Communication, the Department for Education Innovation presented a third online Digital Accessibility lunch and learn session on Tuesday, 9th November 2021.

The session informed lecturers why Ally will be available in their clickUP courses in 2022 and how they can use it to the benefit of all students.  

The following topics were discussed: The Blackboard Ally pilot, the value of Ally for students with disabilities and the implementation of Ally in clickUP in 2022.
