Two professors attend SHARP Conference 2021

Prof. Archie Dick and Beth le Roux were both involved in the virtual conference of the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading and Publishing (SHARP), hosted by Münster University, from 26-30 July 2021. The conference, which is the biggest annual gathering of book and print culture historians, focused on them theme of ‘Moving Texts’ this year. Prof. Dick participated in a plenary panel with speakers from five different countries: ‘Singing textbooks, living documents, digital stories: Perspectives on moving texts and travelling tales from the Global South’. He was also one of the judges for the prestigious DeLong Book History prize, awarded annually to the best new book in the field.

Prof. le Roux is one of the co-editors of SHARP’s journal, Book History. She participated in a launch of the new biannual, paperback format of the journal and a Q&A session with the editors. She also chaired a panel on Immigrant publishing.
