The IT-Lab for Grade 11's and Matriculants was virus-ridden, un-networked and in need of legitimate software for the learners. Group 48 of the JCP 202 module of the University of Pretoria worked to reboot the Windows installations on all 40+ computers, formatting and wiping off the viruses. The group then installed fresh new versions of Windows, MS Office suite, and a suitable antivirus on all machines, with the University’s help. The final step was to network all the computers so that students can submit their assignments via the network, instead of bringing in potentially virus infected memory sticks every time they submit an assignment.
