We're extremely proud of Suné Jacobs, one of our final year students from last year, for winning the 2024 SAIIE Award for Best Industrial Engineering Work conducted in Industry!
Suné conducted a feasibility study for FlySafair to test the viability of implementing a Self-Bag Drop System at major airports. The study used discrete event simulation modeling to determine the required number of stations and analyse potential time reductions in customer queues for different fare classes. The results served as the Business Case for the company's consideration of this capital-intensive, multi-vendor project.
