Prof Olufemi Adetunji, Head of Department

I consider it humbling and a great privilege to be appointed as the head of the department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Pretoria. The department has rich history and traditions, and I only hope to build on the legacies of the great leaders that have served ahead of me, and bred a culture of good inter-personal relationship within the department. I wish to thank the faculty and the university for the confidence reposed in me. I do not take this lightly.

I hope my era of service would be one of great consolidation of gains, entrenching communality in teaching and research within the department, deepening the extant relationship within us and with our students, industry partners, board, alumni and sister departments, while cultivating new and enduring relationships that will take the department to new heights. I believe we will go much further journeying together, and hope we would achieve this dream as a department, and with our partners and stakeholders. We would be committed to putting in all the sweat and blood, and trust God to grant our desires.

I am looking forward to birthing this dream of team progress.
