Department of IE Teaching Model

Dear students,


In EBIT, under lockdown level 1, all departments will follow a hybrid approach when classes starts. 

A hybrid approach is a combination of pre-recorded material, live online-sessions and/or contact sessions. The format of the contact sessions can differ from presenting lecture contents to practical and Q&A sessions. Specific arrangements for each module will be provided in the study guides and on the modules ClickUP page.

UNDERGRADUATE

The Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering will use a combination of three different teaching models for its undergraduate modules during the first semester of 2022, as indicated in the following table:

Model 1

All normal lectures and practicals are presented online. Tests and exams are written in person on campus.

BSS310,  BPJ410.

Model 2

All normal lectures are presented online, but practicals/tutorials are presented in person on campus on a weekly rotational basis (i.e. Group A week 1, Group B week 2, etc). Tests and exams are written in person on campus.

BAN313.

Model 3

Weekly rotational lectures with a combination of  face-to-face lectures and online lectures and material. Tests and exams are written in person on campus.

BJJ210, BOB310, BOZ312, BGC410, BON410.

This implies that a hybrid teaching mode will be used during this semester and all students are required to come back to campus and attend a combination of online and face-to-face lectures as scheduled per module.

Students are encouraged to check their module ClickUP pages regularly to ensure that they know when they need to attend face-to-face lectures.

 

POSTGRADUATE

The Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering will the following teaching model for its postgraduate modules during the first semester of 2022, as indicated in the following table:

Students are encouraged to check their module ClickUP pages regularly to ensure that they know when they need to attend face-to-face lectures.

If you have selected modules outside of the IE Department, please consult the relevant department on the mode of teaching and learning for that specific module. This model only applies to the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering.
