One of our own wins SA junior ski championship

Posted on August 07, 2019

Hearts were racing as young skiers ascended the steepest slope in the Southern Drakensberg at Tiffindell ski resort on Sunday 28 July 2019.  Competitors assembled with exhilaration on their faces at the starting point, an enormous 2 850 metres above sea level. Among them, Miss Elizabeth Olivier, a third year Industrial Engineering student at the University of Pretoria.

Elizabeth came first, two years in a row in the National championship and National junior championship, being this year’s South African Alpine junior ski champion.

She also represented South Africa in 2016 at the Olympic youth games in Norway.

Huge congratulations to Elizabeth with her excellent performance! A great display of skill and courage.
