Industry members of Advisory Board visit Department of Human Resource Management

Posted on June 08, 2018

The Department of Human Resource Management recently established an Advisory Board, which consists of staff in the Department and practitioners within the fields of industrial psychology, human resource management and labour relations. The purpose of this board is to narrow the gap and improve collaborative relations between industry and academia, especially pertaining to curriculum refinement and community projects, as well as to increase the employment potential of graduated students.

The first meeting was held on 14 March 2018, during which the Department shared its ideology and the current and planned curriculum with industry members. Three students also joined this meeting in order to discuss expectations and provide insight in their learning experiences thus far. The Advisory Board members will formally meet at least twice yearly, but industry members will be sporadically involved with the Department throughout the year at ad hoc basis.
