Prof Karel Stanz, Head of the Department of Human Resource Management, has been honoured with the Award for Best Professor in Human Resource Management by the Africa Education Leadership Awards. The Awards are presented by World CSR Day with CMO Asia as its strategic partner and the Stars of the Industry group as a research partner.

The Awards are presented to individuals who are managing their institutions through leadership, innovation, academic and industry interface with the objective of building future leaders and who have surpassed several levels of excellence and are role models of exemplary leadership.

Recommendations regarding suitable candidates for the awards are made by experts from across the world. The criteria are based on personal information, students’ perception, graduated students’ opinion and the positions that candidates occupy in their organisation.

Companies involved with the award are the Africa Confederation of Businesses, the World Federation of Academic Educational Institutions, World CSR, CMO Asia, the Stars of the Industry Group, the Africa/India Partnership and the World Federation of Marketing. A founding member of the African Leadership Network (ALN), Dr RL Bhatia, said the ALN only had one aim and vision with the award and that is to make a difference in the education community.
