Two great minds shared their knowledge and expertise during a visit to the University of Pretoria. 

Farhana Mather has been the Senior Executive Director of Development for McGill University where she was responsible for leading the overall development operation and advancing the University's philanthropic and research efforts with individuals, foundations and corporations in North America and abroad. She has deep expertise in campaign planning, foundation and corporate relations, prospect management and donor research, advancement information systems, and campaign and advancement operational financing.  She shared her knowledge about fundraising in higher education institutions and provided much insight into the achievement of fundraising goals. 

Allan Schweyer, a renowned speaker and best-selling author, presented an interactive lecture on talent and human capital management to the masters and doctorate students in the department.  He provided students with useful insights into the age of the knowledge worker and the management of human capital in organisations.  Allan emphasised the importance of continually attracting and attaining top talent in the new economy and fostering a culture of innovation and creativity as a competitive advantage.
