The value and outcomes of research focus areas as well as the challenges in implementing them was discussed. Ian Rothmann is a Professor in Industrial and Organisational Psychology at the North-West University in Vanderbijlpark. He has been involved in creating and managing an interdisciplinary focus area at a higher education institution in South Africa.
