On 25 August and 1 September 2012 Prof Weiss presented lectures to the International Labour Law students of the Faculty of Law at the University of Pretoria and on 31 August he presented a seminar at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in Pretoria on "The long way to the European Social Model". The seminar at TUT was organised by Dr Paul Smit from the Department of Human Resource Management at the University of Pretoria. Prof Weiss, from the JW Goethe University in Frankfurt, and Dr Smit have agreed in principle on an international collaboration and to do a joint research project on transnational labour relations in the SADC over a three-year period as from 2013.
