Seasonal Forecast (September 2022) available

Posted on September 10, 2022

The UP model predicts weak La Niña conditions to persist throughout most of the 2022/2023 early and mid-summer season. The SW Cape is expected to experience below-normal rainfall during spring and early summer. Spring is expected to be mostly drier than normal over the summer rainfall region. At this stage, there is an increased likelihood of an above-normal rainfall season toward mid-summer over the larger summer rainfall region.

Mostly warmer than normal maximum temperatures are expected over the larger forecast region during spring. Cooler than average maximum temperatures are expected to set in during mid-summer in association with the increased likelihood of a wet summer in the summer rainfall region.

The forecast can be accessed here. Have a look at our archive of forecasts here.
