Seasonal Forecast (April 2022) available

Posted on April 12, 2022

The UP model predicts a transition into ENSO-neutral conditions during winter; this forecast is in agreement with most models. The SW Cape is expected to experience below-normal rainfall from early winter until the end of this month’s forecast period (Jul-Aug-Sep). Enhanced probabilities for wet conditions are predicted over the central and western parts during autumn, except over the northern-northeastern parts where it may be dry. Cooler maximum temperatures are expected over the central and western parts of the region at the beginning of the forecast period. Warmer than average conditions are likely to be found mainly over the northern half of the region.
