Professor Breetzke, an expert on the geospatial analyses of crime, was invited to speak at the webinar series ‘Conversations of crime’ on 22 July. The title of his talk was 'So you think crime is everywhere: A deep dive into the spatial distribution of crime in two diverse contexts in South Africa'. The talk highlighted the ways in which crime in South Africa is spatially diffuse unlike what is popularly portrayed in the media.
