The UP model predicts ENSO-neutral conditions for winter. Good news for the already outstanding rainfall received in areas thus far: above-normal rainfalls are expected over large parts of the forecast region for the late summer. And with cooler maximum temperatures predicted over the region, a cold start to winter is likely.
And remember - if you are a farmer that would like science-based seasonal predictions for your farm then you can contact Prof Landman [email protected]. If you submit your climate data, we can use these data to model the climate for your area.
