Lecturer invited as the Regional Focal Point (RFP) for the World Climate Research Program (WCRP) consultation of the African region

Dr Thando Ndarana has been awarded the role of the Regional Focal Point (RFP) for the World Climate Research Program (WCRP) consultation of the African region. In this role, Thando will facilitate 'virtual town hall' meetings, to support the WCRP's vision of better engagement with the broader community.

Thando's research focuses on using synoptic dynamic meteorology diagnostics, and dynamical processes and principles to understand various aspects of rain bearing weather systems over South Africa.
