The University of Pretoria is one of the top 10 universities worldwide using Esri's Learn ArcGIS platform.This platform includes GIS lessons, as well as guidance on how to teach with GIS.

The Department of Geography, Geoinformatics and Meteorology offers numerous GIS and geomatics courses, making use of both FOSS and proprietary software.
